SCHLOSS LANDECK
This castle guards the old Roman road, Via Claudia Augusta, and sits impressively over the city of Landeck. Today, it tells the interesting history of the Tyrolean Uplands with its permanent exhibition “Bleiben oder Gehen”. It has its own gallery that features regularly changing exhibits by local & international artists. Children can look forward to an informative treasure hunt. Around Christmas, there is a beautiful nativity scene with a mechanical manger.
CULTURE & SHOPPING IN LANDECK
The shopping city of Landeck, only a few minutes away from Sonnenhang, offers a multitude of shops for a lovely little shopping trip. One highlight is the weekly Landecker Frischmarkt, a market that is held every Friday and delights visitors with regional specialties (not open throughout January). Moreover, the area is home to many different exciting cultural events.

At Christmas time, there are atmospheric, cultural Christmas markets held all over the holiday region of Tyrol West and in the Tyrolean Uplands. We can recommend a visit to the “Winterwundertal” in the Kaunertal, the “Advent im Schloss Landeck” event, and the Christmas market at the Kaunergrat Nature Park House.
